Bangladesh features lush landscapes and a diverse cultural heritage, making it an intriguing option for some Nigerian travelers. Although it currently sees fewer tourist arrivals, the country is gradually gaining global interest for its authentic cultural experiences and natural beauty. This destination could appeal to a segment of Nigeria's 219 million population.
Bangladesh is generally considered safer for tourists compared to Nigeria. According to the Global Peace Index, Bangladesh ranks 91st out of 160 countries, while Nigeria is ranked 144th. The murder rate in Bangladesh is significantly lower at 2.4 per 100,000 people, compared to Nigeria's 22.0. In terms of organized crime, both countries have similar scores for mafia groups and crime networks, each rated at 5.5. However, Bangladesh scores better in several areas, including foreign crime (2.0 for Bangladesh vs. 7.0 for Nigeria) and resource crime (3.5 for Bangladesh vs. 8.0 for Nigeria). Overall, while no destination is without risks, tourists from Nigeria may find Bangladesh to be a relatively safer option.
