Zambia is an appealing destination for some Mozambicans, particularly those drawn to its natural attractions and cultural richness. The highlight is Victoria Falls, a renowned natural wonder that attracts adventure seekers and nature lovers.
Zambia is generally considered a relatively safe destination for tourists, especially when compared to Mozambique. According to the Global Peace Index, Zambia ranks 55th out of 160 countries, while Mozambique is ranked 106th. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in Zambia is 5.4 per 100,000 people, compared to Mozambique's 3.5. However, when looking at organized crime indices, Zambia scores better in several categories, with lower scores indicating less crime. For example, Zambia has a mafia group index of 3.0 versus Mozambique's 3.5, and a crime network index of 5.0 compared to Mozambique's 8.0. Overall, while both countries have their challenges, Zambia is perceived as safer for tourists than Mozambique.
