Zambia is an appealing destination for some Chinese visitors due to its stunning natural attractions, particularly Victoria Falls, a renowned natural wonder. With 20.3 million Chinese travelers venturing abroad annually, there is potential interest in exploring Zambia's unique cultural and natural offerings.
Zambia is generally considered a relatively safe destination for tourists, including those from China. According to the Global Peace Index, Zambia ranks 55th out of 160 countries, which is better than China's ranking of 87th. However, it's important to note that Zambia has a higher murder rate of 5.4 per 100,000 people compared to China's 0.5. In terms of organized crime, Zambia has lower scores on several indices compared to China, indicating a somewhat safer environment regarding criminal activities. For instance, Zambia scores 3.0 for mafia groups and 5.0 for crime networks, while China scores 7.0 and 7.5, respectively. Overall, while Zambia presents some safety concerns, it is relatively safer than China in the context of organized crime and general peace. Tourists should remain vigilant and informed about their surroundings while traveling.
