Yemen offers a unique appeal for some Russian travelers due to its rich history and stunning landscapes. Despite facing various challenges, it could attract a portion of the 12.4 million Russians who travel abroad annually.
Yemen is currently considered very unsafe for tourists, including those from Russia. According to the Global Peace Index, Yemen ranks 160th out of 160 countries, indicating a high level of danger. In comparison, Russia ranks 154th, which is relatively safer. Both countries have a similar murder rate of 6.8 per 100,000 people, but Yemen lacks specific data on female murders. Additionally, the Global Organized Crime Index shows that Yemen has significantly higher scores in various crime categories, such as mafia groups (8.0), crime networks (7.0), and human trafficking (8.5), suggesting a more severe crime environment compared to Russia. Given these factors, it is advisable for tourists to avoid traveling to Yemen due to the high risks involved.
