Yemen offers a unique appeal for Hungarian travelers interested in its rich history and stunning landscapes. While the country faces various challenges, it could attract a segment of the 4.4 million Hungarians who travel abroad annually.
Yemen is considered highly unsafe for tourists, including those from Hungary. While Hungary ranks 16th in safety among European countries, Yemen is ranked last (160th) globally according to the Global Peace Index. The murder rate in Yemen is significantly higher at 6.8 per 100,000 people compared to Hungary's 0.8. Additionally, various crime indices indicate Yemen faces severe challenges with organized crime, human trafficking, and arms trafficking, scoring much worse than Hungary across multiple categories. Given these factors, travel to Yemen is not advisable for tourists from Hungary.
