Yemen offers a unique appeal for travelers from Bahrain due to its rich history and stunning landscapes. While the country faces various challenges, it can attract a segment of the 500,000 Bahrainis who travel abroad annually, particularly those interested in exploring its cultural heritage.
Yemen is currently considered very unsafe for tourists, especially when compared to Bahrain. The Global Peace Index ranks Yemen as the least peaceful country in the world, at 160th out of 160 countries, while Bahrain ranks 79th. In terms of crime statistics, Yemen has a significantly higher murder rate of 6.8 per 100,000 people, compared to Bahrain's rate of just 0.1. Additionally, various organized crime indices indicate that Yemen faces serious challenges, with high scores in areas such as mafia presence (8.0), crime networks (7.0), and human trafficking (8.5), while Bahrain scores much lower in these categories. Given these factors, it is advisable for tourists from Bahrain to exercise extreme caution or avoid traveling to Yemen at this time.
