Vietnam presents an appealing option for Bruneian visitors, featuring rich landscapes and a vibrant culture. While the country is in a recovery phase regarding foreign tourist arrivals, its tourism infrastructure indicates strong potential. A segment of Brunei's population could find Vietnam to be an attractive destination.
Viet Nam is generally considered safe for tourists, including those from Brunei. According to the Global Peace Index, Viet Nam ranks 41st out of 160 countries, indicating a relatively peaceful environment. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in Viet Nam is 1.5 per 100,000 people, compared to Brunei's very low rate of 0.5. While Viet Nam has higher indices for organized crime compared to Brunei, with scores ranging from 6.0 to 8.5 in various categories, these do not necessarily translate to direct threats to tourists. Overall, while there are some crime concerns, many travelers visit Viet Nam without issues, and standard precautions should be taken, as in any destination.
