Uzbekistan is generally considered a relatively safe destination for tourists, including those coming from Tajikistan. According to the Global Peace Index, Uzbekistan ranks 58th out of 160 countries, making it safer than Tajikistan, which ranks 69th. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in Uzbekistan is 1.4 per 100,000 people, compared to Tajikistan's lower rate of 0.9.
