Uganda, known as the "Pearl of Africa," boasts stunning landscapes and rich biodiversity, making it an appealing destination for some Serbian travelers. With its vast savannahs, breathtaking waterfalls, and dense rainforests that host diverse wildlife, including mountain gorillas, it offers unique experiences. However, it remains largely untapped in global tourism, which may limit its overall attractiveness to the entire Serbian population of 7 million.
Uganda presents certain safety concerns for tourists, including those from Serbia. While Serbia ranks 53rd in the Global Peace Index, Uganda is significantly lower at 124th out of 160 countries. The murder rate in Uganda is notably higher, at 8.5 per 100,000 people compared to Serbia's 1.1. Additionally, female murder rates are 4.0 in Uganda versus 0.7 in Serbia. In terms of organized crime, both countries have similar indices, but Serbia generally fares better across various categories, including mafia groups and human trafficking. While Uganda has some appealing tourist attractions, visitors should remain vigilant and informed about safety conditions. Overall, tourists from Serbia may find Uganda less safe compared to their home country.
