Uganda, known as the "Pearl of Africa," boasts beautiful landscapes and diverse wildlife, including mountain gorillas. While it remains largely underexplored in global tourism, it could appeal to a segment of Libya's 7 million residents seeking unique travel experiences.
Uganda is relatively safe for tourists, ranking 124th out of 160 countries on the Global Peace Index, which is comparable to Libya's ranking of 126th. According to the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, Uganda has a murder rate of 8.5 per 100,000 people, with a female murder rate of 4.0. In terms of organized crime, Uganda generally has lower indices than Libya across various categories. For example, Uganda scores 5.0 for mafia groups compared to Libya's 8.0, and 7.0 for crime networks versus Libya's 7.5. However, both countries face challenges with crime, and travelers should remain vigilant and informed about local conditions.
