Ukraine offers a rich cultural and historical experience, making it an appealing destination for Turkish travelers. With 2.7 million Turks traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Ukraine an interesting option for their travels.
Ukraine's safety for tourists from Türkiye can be assessed through various rankings and statistics. According to the Global Peace Index, Ukraine ranks 156th out of 160 countries, indicating a lower safety level compared to Türkiye, which ranks 137th. In terms of crime rates, Türkiye has a murder rate of 2.5 per 100,000 people, while Ukraine's rate is higher at 3.8. Female murder rates also reflect this trend, with Türkiye at 1.0 and Ukraine at 1.9. Regarding organized crime, Türkiye generally scores worse than Ukraine in several categories, such as mafia groups (Türkiye 8.0, Ukraine 6.0) and state crime (Türkiye 9.0, Ukraine 8.0). However, Ukraine shows higher levels of certain crimes, such as the murder rate. Overall, while Türkiye is considered safer than Ukraine based on various metrics, travelers should remain aware of the current situation and exercise caution if visiting Ukraine.
