Ukraine offers a rich cultural and historical experience, making it an appealing destination for some of Serbia's 7 million residents. The country has seen a growing influx of international tourists, highlighting its potential as a notable spot for visitors from Serbia.
Ukraine's safety for tourists, particularly those coming from Serbia, is a concern. While Serbia ranks 53rd in safety according to the Global Peace Index, Ukraine is significantly lower at 156th out of 160 countries. The murder rate in Ukraine is also higher, with 3.8 per 100,000 people compared to Serbia's 1.1. Both countries have similar organized crime indices, but Ukraine faces greater challenges in areas like human trafficking and arms trafficking. Given these factors, tourists should exercise caution and stay informed about the current situation in Ukraine before traveling.
