Ukraine offers a rich cultural and historical experience, making it an appealing destination for some Moroccan travelers. With around 600,000 Moroccans traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Ukraine an intriguing option for their travels.
Ukraine is currently considered less safe for tourists compared to Morocco. According to the Global Peace Index, Ukraine ranks 156th out of 160 countries, while Morocco ranks 76th. The murder rate in Ukraine is 3.8 per 100,000 people, which is higher than Morocco's rate of 1.9. Additionally, female murder rates are also higher in Ukraine (1.9) compared to Morocco (0.5). The Global Organized Crime Index indicates that Ukraine faces significant challenges with organized crime, scoring 6.0 for mafia groups and 8.0 for state crime, whereas Morocco scores much lower (1.0 for mafia groups and 7.0 for state crime). Overall, while travel is possible, tourists from Morocco should exercise caution and stay informed about the current situation in Ukraine.
