Ukraine offers a rich cultural and historical experience, making it an appealing destination for some travelers from Kazakhstan. With 3.5 million Kazakh citizens traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Ukraine to be an attractive option for their international trips.
Ukraine is currently considered less safe for tourists compared to Kazakhstan. According to the Global Peace Index, Ukraine ranks 156th out of 160 countries, while Kazakhstan is ranked 57th. The murder rates also reflect this disparity, with Kazakhstan's rate at 3.2 per 100,000 people compared to Ukraine's 3.8. In terms of organized crime, Kazakhstan generally has better indices across various categories, such as mafia groups (3.5 vs. 6.0) and crime networks (4.0 vs. 7.0). Additionally, state crime and human trafficking rates are higher in Ukraine, with indices of 8.0 and 7.0 respectively, compared to Kazakhstan's 6.0 and 5.5. Overall, while tourists can visit Ukraine, they should be aware of the safety concerns and take necessary precautions.
