Ukraine offers a rich cultural and historical experience that can appeal to a segment of Iraq's 44 million population. In recent years, it has become a notable destination for international tourists, enhancing its attractiveness for visitors from Iraq.
Ukraine is currently considered less safe for tourists compared to Iraq, based on the Global Peace Index, where Ukraine ranks 156th out of 160 countries, while Iraq ranks 148th. In terms of murder rates, Iraq has a higher rate at 10.1 per 100,000 people, compared to Ukraine's 3.8. Regarding organized crime, both countries face significant challenges, but Iraq generally has higher indices for various crime categories. For instance, mafia groups score 6.5 in Iraq and 6.0 in Ukraine, while crime networks score 7.5 in Iraq versus 7.0 in Ukraine. Overall, while Ukraine may have lower murder rates, its overall safety ranking and organized crime indices suggest that tourists should exercise caution when visiting.
