Ukraine offers a rich cultural and historical experience, making it an appealing destination for some of Ethiopia's 123 million residents. In recent years, the country has seen a rise in international tourism, positioning itself as a noteworthy option for travelers.
Ukraine is currently considered less safe for tourists compared to Ethiopia. According to the Global Peace Index, Ukraine ranks 156th out of 160 countries, while Ethiopia is ranked 142nd. In terms of murder rates, Ukraine has a lower rate at 3.8 per 100,000 people compared to Ethiopia's 8.8. However, various crime indices indicate higher levels of organized crime in Ukraine, with a mafia group index of 6.0 and state crime index of 8.0, compared to Ethiopia's 2.0 and 4.0, respectively. Overall, while Ukraine has a lower murder rate, the overall safety perception and organized crime levels suggest that tourists from Ethiopia should exercise caution when traveling to Ukraine.
