Ukraine offers a rich cultural and historical experience that could appeal to Ecuadorian travelers. With around 500,000 Ecuadorians traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Ukraine an intriguing destination worth exploring.
Ukraine is currently ranked 156th out of 160 countries on the Global Peace Index, making it less safe than Ecuador, which ranks 128th. In terms of murder rates, Ecuador has a rate of 14.0 per 100,000 people, while Ukraine's rate is significantly lower at 3.8. Regarding organized crime, both countries face challenges, but Ecuador tends to have slightly better scores in several areas. For instance, mafia groups are rated 6.5 in Ecuador compared to 6.0 in Ukraine. However, Ukraine scores higher in state crime (8.0) and has a higher rate of crime networks (7.0) compared to Ecuador (5.5). Overall, while Ukraine has a lower murder rate, the overall safety situation, particularly concerning organized crime and state crime, suggests that it may not be as safe for tourists from Ecuador. Travelers should exercise caution and stay informed about the current situation before visiting Ukraine.
