Ukraine offers a rich cultural and historical experience, making it an appealing destination for some travelers from Czechia. With approximately 1.2 million Czechs traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Ukraine an interesting option for their travels.
Ukraine is currently considered less safe for tourists compared to Czechia. While Czechia ranks 5th in safety among 40 European countries, Ukraine is ranked 156th out of 160 globally according to the Global Peace Index. The murder rate in Ukraine is significantly higher at 3.8 per 100,000 people, compared to Czechia's 0.4. Additionally, various crime indices indicate that Ukraine faces more challenges with organized crime and violence, with higher scores in areas such as mafia presence, crime networks, and state crime. Travelers from Czechia should exercise caution and stay informed about the current situation when considering travel to Ukraine.
