Ukraine offers a rich cultural heritage and historical significance, making it an appealing destination for international tourists. With around 800,000 Argentines traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Ukraine an intriguing option to explore.
Ukraine is currently considered less safe for tourists compared to Argentina. According to the Global Peace Index, Ukraine ranks 156th out of 160 countries, while Argentina is ranked 46th. In terms of murder rates, Argentina has a rate of 4.6 per 100,000 people, compared to Ukraine's 3.8. However, the rate of female murders is higher in Ukraine at 1.9, compared to Argentina's 1.3. The Global Organized Crime Index also indicates higher levels of organized crime in Ukraine, with indices showing that mafia groups and crime networks are rated worse than in Argentina. For example, Ukraine scores 6.0 for mafia groups and 7.0 for crime networks, while Argentina scores 4.0 and 6.0, respectively. Additionally, state crime in Ukraine is rated at 8.0, significantly higher than Argentina's 5.0. Overall, while both countries face crime challenges, Ukraine's safety situation is more concerning for potential tourists from Argentina.
