Tanzania is an appealing destination for Zimbabwean travelers due to its stunning landscapes and vibrant cultural heritage. With attractions like Mount Kilimanjaro and Serengeti National Park, it offers adventure and cultural experiences that could attract a portion of the 3.3 million Zimbabweans who travel abroad annually.
Tanzania is generally considered a safer destination for tourists compared to Zimbabwe. According to the Global Peace Index, Tanzania ranks 63rd out of 160 countries, while Zimbabwe ranks 119th. In terms of murder rates, Tanzania has a lower rate at 3.7 per 100,000 people, compared to Zimbabwe's 6.1. Additionally, the Global Organized Crime Index indicates that Tanzania has slightly better scores in several categories related to organized crime, such as mafia groups (Tanzania 3.0 vs. Zimbabwe 3.5) and crime networks (Tanzania 7.0 vs. Zimbabwe 7.5). Overall, while no country is without risks, Tanzania presents a relatively safer environment for tourists coming from Zimbabwe.
