Türkiye offers a rich blend of culture and history, making it an appealing destination for Tunisian travelers. With 700,000 Tunisians traveling abroad each year, a portion may find Türkiye's diverse landscapes and cultural heritage particularly attractive.
Türkiye's safety for tourists from Tunisia presents a mixed picture. According to safety rankings, Türkiye is 31st among 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night, but there is no comparable data for Tunisia. The Global Peace Index ranks Türkiye 137th out of 160 countries, indicating a lower safety level compared to Tunisia, which ranks 72nd. In terms of crime statistics, Tunisia has a higher murder rate at 4.8 per 100,000 people compared to Türkiye's 2.5. However, Türkiye faces challenges with organized crime, scoring significantly worse in various categories on the Global Organized Crime Index, such as mafia presence (Türkiye=8.0) and state crime (Türkiye=9.0). Overall, while Türkiye has lower murder rates, the higher organized crime indices suggest that tourists should remain vigilant and informed about their surroundings while visiting.
