Türkiye offers a unique blend of culture and history, making it an appealing destination for Slovenian travelers. With 2.1 million Slovenians traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Türkiye's rich heritage and diverse landscapes attractive for their travels.
Türkiye presents a different safety landscape for tourists compared to Slovenia. In terms of safety while walking alone at night, Türkiye ranks 31st out of 40 countries, significantly lower than Slovenia, which ranks 2nd. Additionally, the Global Peace Index places Türkiye at 137th out of 160 countries, while Slovenia is much safer at 9th. When examining crime statistics, the murder rate in Türkiye is notably higher at 2.5 per 100,000 people, compared to Slovenia's low rate of 0.4. Female murder rates also reflect this disparity, with Türkiye at 1.0 and Slovenia at 0.6. The Global Organized Crime Index further highlights concerns, with Türkiye scoring worse in several categories, such as mafia groups (8.0 vs. Slovenia's 3.0) and state crime (9.0 vs. Slovenia's 6.0). In summary, while Türkiye has much to offer tourists, it is important for visitors from Slovenia to be aware of the safety differences and exercise caution.
