Türkiye offers a rich blend of culture and history, making it an appealing destination for travelers. With millions of international visitors each year, its diverse landscapes and cultural heritage attract attention. Among the 1.5 million Filipinos who travel abroad annually, a portion may find Türkiye an intriguing option to explore.
Türkiye's safety for tourists from the Philippines can be assessed through various rankings and statistics. According to a safety ranking of 40 European countries, Türkiye is positioned 31st in terms of safety while walking alone at night. In the Global Peace Index, Türkiye ranks 137th out of 160 countries, compared to the Philippines at 102nd, indicating that Türkiye is generally less safe. In terms of murder rates, Türkiye has a lower overall rate at 2.5 per 100,000 people, compared to the Philippines at 4.4. However, the female murder rate is slightly higher in Türkiye (1.0) than in the Philippines (0.8). The Global Organized Crime Index shows that both countries have similar scores for mafia presence (8.0), but Türkiye scores higher in state crime (9.0) and human smuggling (9.0).
