Türkiye offers a rich blend of culture and history, making it an appealing destination for visitors from Brunei. With its unique position at the crossroads of East and West, the country attracts millions of international tourists each year, thanks to its diverse natural landscapes and cultural heritage. This vibrant environment could captivate a segment of Brunei's population.
Türkiye's safety for tourists, including those from Brunei, presents a mixed picture. It ranks 31st out of 40 European countries for safety while walking alone at night, but specific data for Brunei is not available. According to the Global Peace Index, Türkiye is ranked 137th out of 160 countries, again with no specific data for Brunei. In terms of crime statistics, Türkiye has a murder rate of 2.5 per 100,000 people, compared to Brunei's low rate of 0.5. Female murder rates are also lower in Türkiye at 1.0 compared to Brunei's 1.2. The Global Organized Crime Index indicates significant differences in crime-related issues, with Türkiye scoring worse in various categories such as mafia groups (8.0) and state crime (9.0), while Brunei scores much better (1.0 and 2.0, respectively). Overall, while Türkiye offers rich cultural experiences for tourists, it is advisable for travelers from Brunei to remain vigilant and informed about their surroundings.
