Tajikistan offers a unique and diverse tourism experience, characterized by its stunning mountainous landscapes. While it is currently not a mainstream travel destination, it is gradually gaining recognition in the international tourism sector. Given that 6.3 million Emiratis travel abroad annually, there is potential interest among some of them in exploring Tajikistan.
Tajikistan is generally considered a relatively safe destination for tourists, ranking 69th out of 160 countries on the Global Peace Index. However, it is not as safe as the United Arab Emirates, which ranks 52nd. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in Tajikistan is 0.9 per 100,000 people, compared to 0.5 in the UAE. Additionally, the Global Organized Crime Index indicates that Tajikistan faces more challenges with organized crime, with a mafia group index of 5.5 compared to the UAE's 1.0. While Tajikistan has its safety concerns, particularly regarding organized crime and drug trade, many tourists visit the country without incident. It is advisable for travelers to stay informed, exercise caution, and follow local guidelines while visiting.
