Thailand is an appealing destination for some visitors from Seychelles, thanks to its vibrant culture, warm hospitality, rich history, delicious cuisine, and beautiful beaches. While it attracts a diverse range of international tourists, it has a modest ranking in terms of overall tourist arrivals. Given that around 100,000 Seychellois travel abroad annually, a portion may find Thailand an interesting place to visit.
Thailand is generally considered safe for tourists, including those coming from Seychelles. According to the Global Peace Index, Thailand ranks 73rd out of 160 countries, indicating a moderate level of safety. The murder rates are similar, with Seychelles at 4.7 per 100,000 people and Thailand at 4.9. However, there are notable differences in crime indices. For instance, Thailand has higher scores for organized crime, with a state crime index of 6.5 and foreign crime at 7.5, compared to Seychelles' scores of 4.5 and 4.0, respectively. Additionally, Thailand faces challenges with human trafficking and drug-related crimes, with indices indicating higher risks than those in Seychelles. Overall, while Thailand is a popular tourist destination, travelers should remain aware of their surroundings and stay informed about local safety conditions.
