Chad offers a unique mix of natural beauty and cultural experiences, making it an intriguing option for some Thai travelers. With attractions like the expansive desert landscapes, traditional Saharan cultures, and notable wildlife reserves such as the Ennedi Plateau and Zakouma National Park, it could appeal to a segment of the 10.4 million Thais who travel abroad annually.
Chad is generally considered less safe for tourists compared to Thailand. According to the Global Peace Index, Chad ranks 133rd out of 160 countries, while Thailand is ranked 73rd. Although specific murder rates for Chad are not available, Thailand's murder rate is 4.9 per 100,000 people, with a female murder rate of 1.2. In terms of organized crime, Thailand has lower indices across various categories compared to Chad. For example, mafia groups score 1.5 in Thailand versus 5.5 in Chad, and state crime scores 6.5 in Thailand compared to 8.5 in Chad.
