Eswatini offers a unique combination of cultural richness and natural beauty, making it an appealing destination for some Belgian travelers. While it attracts a limited number of international visitors annually, it has developed distinct tourism niches. With 8.6 million Belgians traveling abroad each year, a portion may find Eswatini an interesting choice for their travels.
Eswatini presents certain safety concerns for tourists from Belgium. While Belgium ranks 16th in the Global Peace Index and has a low murder rate of 1.1 per 100,000 people, Eswatini ranks 101st out of 160 countries with a significantly higher murder rate of 12.7 per 100,000 people. Additionally, crime statistics indicate that Eswatini faces challenges with organized crime, reflected in its indices for crime networks and state crime, which are higher than those in Belgium. The lack of specific data on female murders in Eswatini further complicates the safety assessment. Overall, while tourists can visit Eswatini, they should remain vigilant and take necessary precautions due to the higher crime rates and safety concerns compared to Belgium.
