Singapore is an appealing destination for some Saudi visitors, thanks to its unique mix of rich history and modern attractions. Although it receives a modest number of international tourists, it generates high revenue per visitor. With 4.8 million Saudis traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Singapore an intriguing choice for their travels.
Singapore is considered one of the safest countries in the world, ranking 5th out of 160 countries in the Global Peace Index, significantly safer than Saudi Arabia, which ranks 100th. According to the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, Singapore has a murder rate of 0.1 per 100,000 people, compared to Saudi Arabia's 0.8. In terms of organized crime, both countries have a mafia group index of 3.0, but Singapore scores better in several categories, including state crime (1.5 for Singapore vs. 8.0 for Saudi Arabia) and human smuggling (2.5 for Singapore vs. 7.5 for Saudi Arabia). Overall, tourists from Saudi Arabia can feel safe visiting Singapore, given its low crime rates and high safety rankings.
