Singapore is a compelling destination for Portuguese travelers, offering a unique mix of rich history and modern attractions. Although it sees a limited number of international visitors, it generates significant revenue per tourist. With around 1 million Portuguese traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Singapore appealing for their travels.
Singapore is considered very safe for tourists, including those from Portugal. While Portugal ranks 15th among 40 European countries for safety when walking alone at night, Singapore is ranked 5th globally according to the Global Peace Index, indicating a high level of safety. In terms of crime statistics, Singapore has a significantly lower murder rate of 0.1 per 100,000 people compared to Portugal's 0.8. Additionally, various organized crime indices show that Singapore generally has lower scores (indicating better safety) than Portugal in areas such as state crime and human smuggling. Overall, both countries are safe, but Singapore is recognized as one of the safest places in the world, making it a secure destination for tourists.
