Singapore is an appealing destination for Indonesian visitors due to its unique blend of history and modern attractions. Although it receives a modest number of international tourists, it generates significant revenue per visitor. With around 500,000 Indonesians traveling abroad annually, a portion is likely to choose Singapore as their travel destination.
Singapore is considered one of the safest countries in the world, ranking 5th out of 160 countries on the Global Peace Index, significantly safer than Indonesia, which ranks 47th. According to the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, Singapore has a murder rate of 0.1 per 100,000 people, compared to Indonesia's 0.6. The Global Organized Crime Index also reflects lower crime levels in Singapore, with lower scores across various categories such as mafia groups (Singapore: 3.0, Indonesia: 6.0) and human trafficking (Singapore: 5.5, Indonesia: 6.5). Overall, tourists from Indonesia can feel safe visiting Singapore, given its low crime rates and high safety rankings.
