Sweden is appealing to a specific segment of Vanuatu's population, thanks to its stunning landscapes and lively cities. The country boasts a strong tourism infrastructure, attracting a modest number of international visitors who seek quality experiences over sheer volume.
Sweden is generally considered safe for tourists, including those from Vanuatu. According to the Global Peace Index, Sweden ranks 39th out of 160 countries, indicating a relatively peaceful environment. However, when it comes to safety while walking alone at night, Sweden ranks 36th among 40 European countries, suggesting some caution may be warranted. In terms of crime statistics, Sweden has a murder rate of 1.1 per 100,000 people, compared to Vanuatu's much lower rate of 0.3. Additionally, various organized crime indices indicate that while Sweden has some challenges with organized crime, Vanuatu also faces its own issues, albeit on a different scale. Overall, while Sweden has higher crime rates than Vanuatu in some areas, it remains a popular destination for tourists. Visitors should stay informed and take standard safety precautions while traveling.
