Seychelles is an appealing destination for some Mozambicans, offering breathtaking beaches, lush landscapes, and clear waters. With around 200,000 international visitors each year, it attracts those seeking natural beauty and luxury. Given Mozambique's population of 33 million, there is potential interest among a segment of its citizens.
Seychelles is generally considered safe for tourists, including those coming from Mozambique. While Mozambique has a Global Peace Index ranking of 106th out of 160 countries, Seychelles does not have a specific ranking available. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in Seychelles is slightly higher at 4.7 per 100,000 people compared to Mozambique's 3.5. However, Seychelles has lower indices for organized crime, with a score of 2.0 for mafia groups and a score of 4.5 for crime networks, indicating a relatively safer environment. Both countries have similar scores for human trafficking and smuggling, but Seychelles performs better in resource crime, scoring 1.0 compared to Mozambique's 8.0. Overall, while there are some crime concerns, Seychelles is generally viewed as a safer destination for tourists.
