Seychelles is an appealing destination for Spanish travelers, thanks to its breathtaking islands, pristine beaches, and lush landscapes. Annually, it welcomes around 200,000 international visitors seeking natural beauty and luxury. With 7 million Spaniards traveling abroad each year, a portion may find Seychelles an attractive option for their vacations.
Seychelles presents a mixed safety profile for tourists, including those from Spain. While Spain ranks 23rd in the Global Peace Index and has a low murder rate of 0.6 per 100,000 people, Seychelles has a significantly higher murder rate of 4.7. Additionally, female murder rates in Seychelles are notably higher at 5.4 compared to Spain's 0.4. In terms of organized crime, Seychelles scores better than Spain in some areas, such as mafia presence (2.0 vs. 6.0) and state crime (4.5 vs. 5.0). However, Seychelles faces challenges with drug trafficking, particularly heroin, which has a higher score (7.5) compared to Spain (6.5). Overall, while Seychelles has certain safety concerns, particularly regarding violent crime, it also has lower organized crime indices in several categories. Tourists should remain vigilant and informed while traveling.
