Rwanda, known as the "Land of a Thousand Hills," offers rich biodiversity and cultural heritage, making it an appealing destination for international tourists. Famous for its mountain gorillas and stunning landscapes, Rwanda has demonstrated significant growth in its tourism sector, despite facing some challenges. It could attract a segment of Sudan's 47 million population.
Rwanda is generally considered safe for tourists, especially when compared to Sudan. According to the Global Peace Index, Rwanda ranks 90th out of 160 countries, while Sudan ranks 159th. In terms of murder rates, Rwanda has a lower rate of 3.6 per 100,000 people compared to Sudan's 5.1. The Global Organized Crime Index also highlights significant differences in crime safety. For instance, Rwanda scores much better in various crime categories: mafia groups (Rwanda 1.0 vs. Sudan 6.5), crime networks (3.0 vs. 7.5), and human trafficking (5.0 vs. 8.0). Overall, Rwanda presents a safer environment for tourists compared to Sudan.
