Rwanda is an appealing destination for some travelers from Czechia, known for its rich biodiversity and cultural heritage. The country's stunning landscapes and famous mountain gorillas attract international tourists. While Rwanda's tourism sector has demonstrated significant growth, it still faces challenges in maximizing its potential. With around 1.2 million Czechs traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Rwanda an intriguing option for their travels.
Rwanda is generally considered safe for tourists, but there are notable differences in safety compared to Czechia. Czechia ranks 5th in safety among European countries for walking alone at night, while Rwanda does not have specific data for this metric. According to the Global Peace Index, Rwanda is ranked 90th out of 160 countries, significantly lower than Czechia, which is 12th. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in Czechia is 0.4 per 100,000 people, whereas in Rwanda, it is higher at 3.6. The Global Organized Crime Index indicates that Rwanda has lower scores in organized crime categories compared to Czechia, suggesting a relatively lower presence of mafia groups and crime networks. Overall, while Rwanda is relatively safe for tourists, travelers should remain aware of their surroundings and take standard safety precautions.
