Rwanda, known as the "Land of a Thousand Hills," offers rich biodiversity and cultural heritage, making it an appealing destination for international travelers. Famous for its mountain gorillas and stunning landscapes, the country has made significant strides in its tourism industry, despite facing some challenges. It could attract a segment of the 171 million people in Bangladesh who are interested in unique travel experiences.
Rwanda is generally considered safe for tourists, including those from Bangladesh. According to the Global Peace Index, Rwanda ranks 90th out of 160 countries, while Bangladesh is slightly lower at 91st. The murder rates indicate that Rwanda has a higher rate (3.6 per 100,000) compared to Bangladesh (2.4 per 100,000). In terms of organized crime, Rwanda scores better in several categories: it has a lower index for mafia groups (1.0 vs. 5.5) and crime networks (3.0 vs. 5.5). However, it has a higher score for resource crime (8.0 vs. 3.5). Overall, while there are some safety concerns, Rwanda is relatively safe for tourists compared to many other destinations.
