Qatar offers a compelling mix of modernity and cultural heritage, making it an appealing destination for some travelers from Uzbekistan. With 8.4 million Uzbekistanis traveling abroad annually, a portion may find Qatar attractive, especially given its high tourist spending per arrival despite a moderate overall number of visitors.
Qatar is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those coming from Uzbekistan. According to the Global Peace Index, Qatar ranks 29th out of 160 countries, indicating a higher level of safety compared to Uzbekistan, which ranks 58th. In terms of crime statistics, Qatar has a significantly lower murder rate of 0.3 per 100,000 people, compared to Uzbekistan's 1.4. Additionally, the rates of female murders are also lower in Qatar (0.5) than in Uzbekistan (1.1). The Global Organized Crime Index further highlights the differences in safety. Qatar scores better in areas related to organized crime, with a mafia group index of 1.0 (versus Uzbekistan's 5.0) and a crime networks index of 6.0 (compared to Uzbekistan's 4.5). Overall, Qatar presents a safer environment for tourists than Uzbekistan, making it a favorable travel destination.
