Qatar offers a compelling mix of modernity and rich cultural heritage, complemented by stunning desert landscapes and vibrant urban settings. While the number of tourists from Uganda may be moderate, Qatar is recognized for its high tourist spending per visitor, making it an appealing destination for a segment of Uganda's 47 million population.
Qatar is considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Uganda. According to the Global Peace Index, Qatar ranks 29th out of 160 countries, significantly safer than Uganda, which ranks 124th. In terms of crime statistics, Qatar has a remarkably low murder rate of 0.3 per 100,000 people, compared to Uganda's 8.5. Female murder rates also reflect this trend, with Qatar at 0.5 and Uganda at 4.0. The Global Organized Crime Index further illustrates the safety difference, with Qatar scoring better in various categories. For instance, Qatar has a mafia group index of 1.0 (best) versus Uganda's 5.0, and a crime networks index of 6.0 for Qatar compared to 7.0 for Uganda. Overall, Qatar presents a safer environment for tourists than Uganda, making it a favorable travel destination.
