Qatar offers a compelling mix of modernity and cultural heritage, complemented by its unique desert landscapes and vibrant urban areas. Although it sees a moderate number of tourists, it attracts high-value visitors, making it an appealing destination. With around 700,000 Tunisians traveling abroad annually, there is potential interest among some of them in visiting Qatar.
Qatar is considered a safe destination for tourists, including those coming from Tunisia. According to the Global Peace Index, Qatar ranks 29th out of 160 countries, significantly safer than Tunisia, which ranks 72nd. In terms of crime statistics, Qatar has a notably low murder rate of 0.3 per 100,000 people, compared to Tunisia's rate of 4.8. Female murder rates also reflect this trend, with Qatar at 0.5 and Tunisia at 1.9. While both countries have the same score for mafia presence (1.0), Qatar has higher indices for organized crime, indicating more challenges in that area. However, overall, Qatar remains a safer environment for tourists compared to Tunisia, making it a favorable travel destination.
