Qatar offers a compelling mix of modernity and cultural heritage, complemented by stunning desert landscapes and urban views. Although it sees a moderate number of tourists, it attracts high spending per visitor, making it a valuable destination. This appeal may resonate with a segment of Senegal's 17 million population.
Qatar is considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Senegal. It ranks 29th out of 160 countries on the Global Peace Index, significantly safer than Senegal, which ranks 82nd. Both countries have similar murder rates at 0.3 per 100,000 people, but Qatar has a slightly higher rate of female murders at 0.5. According to the Global Organized Crime Index, Qatar scores better in terms of mafia groups (1.0 vs. Senegal's 2.5) and has lower indices for several crime categories, although it does face challenges with human trafficking and smuggling. Overall, Qatar offers a safer environment for tourists compared to Senegal.
