Qatar offers a compelling mix of modernity and cultural heritage, complemented by its unique desert landscapes and vibrant urban scenery. Although tourist arrivals are moderate, the country attracts high-value visitors, reflected in significant tourist spending per arrival. This makes it an appealing destination for a segment of Sudan's 47 million population.
Qatar is considered a safe destination for tourists, including those coming from Sudan. According to the Global Peace Index, Qatar ranks 29th out of 160 countries, significantly safer than Sudan, which ranks 159th. In terms of crime statistics, Qatar has a very low murder rate of 0.3 per 100,000 people, compared to Sudan's 5.1. Additionally, Qatar's organized crime indices indicate a lower prevalence of mafia groups and crime networks, with scores of 1.0 and 6.0 respectively, while Sudan scores much higher at 6.5 and 7.5. Overall, tourists from Sudan can expect a safer environment in Qatar, with lower rates of violent crime and organized crime activities.
