Qatar is increasingly appealing to visitors from Ethiopia due to its unique combination of modernity and cultural heritage, complemented by stunning desert and urban scenery. Although tourist arrivals are moderate, the country attracts high spending per visitor, highlighting its status as a premium destination. This makes it an interesting option for a segment of Ethiopia's 123 million population.
Qatar is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Ethiopia. According to the Global Peace Index, Qatar ranks 29th out of 160 countries, indicating a high level of safety, especially compared to Ethiopia, which ranks 142nd. In terms of crime statistics, Qatar has a significantly lower murder rate of 0.3 per 100,000 people, compared to Ethiopia's rate of 8.8. Additionally, Qatar's organized crime indices suggest a more secure environment, with lower scores across various categories compared to Ethiopia.
