Qatar offers a compelling mix of modernity and rich cultural heritage, complemented by stunning desert landscapes and vibrant urban environments. While the number of tourists is moderate, the high spending per visitor indicates its appeal as a premium destination. Given that around 500,000 Belarusians travel abroad annually, a portion may find Qatar an attractive option.
Qatar is generally considered a safe destination for tourists, including those from Belarus. According to the Global Peace Index, Qatar ranks 29th out of 160 countries, indicating a high level of safety compared to Belarus, which ranks 110th. In terms of crime statistics, Qatar has a significantly lower murder rate of 0.3 per 100,000 people, compared to Belarus's rate of 2.4. Additionally, the rates of female murders are also lower in Qatar (0.5) than in Belarus (1.7). When examining organized crime indices, Qatar scores better in several categories, such as mafia groups (Qatar 1.0 vs. Belarus 4.0) and state crime (Qatar 6.0 vs. Belarus 9.0). While some indices indicate higher levels of crime networks and human trafficking in Qatar, overall, the safety environment is more favorable compared to Belarus. In summary, tourists from Belarus can expect a safer experience in Qatar based on various safety and crime metrics.
