Pakistan offers a rich cultural heritage and stunning landscapes, making it an appealing destination for some Yemeni travelers. With a developing tourism infrastructure that includes nearly 3,000 hotels listed on TripAdvisor, it is increasingly capable of accommodating a variety of visitors. This attractiveness may resonate with a segment of Yemen's 33 million population.
Pakistan is relatively safer for tourists compared to Yemen. According to the Global Peace Index, Pakistan ranks 138th out of 160 countries, while Yemen ranks last at 160th. The murder rate in Pakistan is 4.0 per 100,000 people, significantly lower than Yemen's 6.8. In terms of organized crime, Pakistan generally has lower indices than Yemen in several categories, such as foreign crime (4.5 in Pakistan vs. 8.0 in Yemen) and arms trafficking (8.0 in Pakistan vs. 9.0 in Yemen). However, both countries face challenges with human trafficking and drug-related crimes. Overall, while there are safety concerns in Pakistan, it is considered a safer destination for tourists than Yemen.
