Pakistan offers a rich cultural heritage and stunning natural landscapes, making it an appealing destination for travelers. Its tourism infrastructure is developing, with around 3,000 hotels available on TripAdvisor, indicating an increasing ability to host various visitors. This could attract a segment of Turkmenistan's 6 million population.
Pakistan's safety for tourists coming from Turkmenistan can be assessed through various indices. According to the Global Peace Index, Pakistan ranks 138th out of 160 countries, indicating lower safety compared to Turkmenistan, which ranks 80th. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rates are relatively similar, with Turkmenistan at 4.2 per 100,000 people and Pakistan at 4.0. However, organized crime indices suggest a higher level of crime activity in Pakistan. For instance, mafia groups score 6.0 in Pakistan compared to 3.0 in Turkmenistan, and crime networks score 7.5 in Pakistan versus 3.5 in Turkmenistan. Overall, while Pakistan does have some areas of safety, tourists should remain cautious and informed about the local situation, as it is generally considered less safe than Turkmenistan.
