Pakistan offers a rich heritage and stunning landscapes, making it an appealing destination for some Rwandans. As a country at the crossroads of South Asia, it features a developing tourism infrastructure, including nearly 3,000 hotels on TripAdvisor, which enhances its capacity to host a variety of travelers. This unique blend of history and natural beauty could attract a segment of Rwanda's 14 million population.
Pakistan's safety for tourists, including those from Rwanda, is a concern. According to the Global Peace Index, Pakistan ranks 138th out of 160 countries, indicating a lower safety level compared to Rwanda, which ranks 90th. The murder rates also reflect this, with Rwanda at 3.6 per 100,000 people and Pakistan at 4.0. In terms of organized crime, Rwanda scores significantly better across various categories. For example, mafia groups in Rwanda score 1.0 compared to Pakistan's 6.0. Additionally, crime networks score 3.0 in Rwanda versus 7.5 in Pakistan. Other areas, such as human trafficking and arms trafficking, also show higher risks in Pakistan. Overall, while travel is possible, tourists from Rwanda should exercise caution and stay informed about safety conditions when visiting Pakistan.
