Pakistan offers a rich cultural heritage and stunning natural landscapes, making it an appealing destination for some Qatari visitors. The country's tourism infrastructure is developing, with around 3,000 hotels available on TripAdvisor, indicating an increasing ability to cater to various traveler needs. This makes Pakistan an intriguing option for a segment of Qatar's population of approximately 3 million.
Pakistan's safety for tourists, particularly those coming from Qatar, is a concern based on various safety indices. According to the Global Peace Index, Pakistan ranks 138th out of 160 countries, significantly lower than Qatar, which is ranked 29th. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in Pakistan is 4.0 per 100,000 people, compared to Qatar's very low rate of 0.3. Additionally, the Global Organized Crime Index indicates that Pakistan faces challenges with organized crime, scoring higher on several indices compared to Qatar. For example, Pakistan has a score of 6.0 for mafia groups and 7.5 for crime networks, while Qatar scores 1.0 and 6.0, respectively. Overall, while many tourists do visit Pakistan, it is essential for travelers to remain cautious and informed about the local safety conditions.
