Pakistan offers a rich cultural heritage and stunning natural landscapes, making it an appealing destination for some Malaysian travelers. With a developing tourism infrastructure that includes nearly 3,000 hotels listed on TripAdvisor, it is increasingly capable of catering to various visitor needs. This unique blend of history and beauty may attract a segment of Malaysia's 34 million population.
Pakistan's safety for tourists, particularly those coming from Malaysia, is a concern based on various safety indices. The Global Peace Index ranks Pakistan 138th out of 160 countries, significantly lower than Malaysia, which ranks 10th. In terms of crime statistics, the murder rate in Pakistan is 4.0 per 100,000 people, compared to Malaysia's low rate of 0.7. The Global Organized Crime Index also highlights higher risks in Pakistan, with indices indicating more severe issues related to organized crime and human trafficking. Overall, while many tourists visit Pakistan and have positive experiences, the safety metrics suggest that it may not be as safe as Malaysia, and travelers should exercise caution and stay informed about local conditions.
