Pakistan offers a rich cultural heritage and stunning natural landscapes, making it an appealing destination for some Ethiopian travelers. The country's tourism infrastructure is improving, with around 3,000 hotels available on TripAdvisor, indicating an increasing ability to host a variety of visitors. Given Ethiopia's population of 123 million, Pakistan could attract a segment of this demographic interested in exploring its unique history and beauty.
Pakistan's safety for tourists from Ethiopia can be assessed through various indices. According to the Global Peace Index, Pakistan is ranked 138th out of 160 countries, while Ethiopia is slightly lower at 142nd, indicating a similar level of safety. When examining murder rates, Pakistan has a lower rate of 4.0 per 100,000 people compared to Ethiopia's 8.8. However, the Global Organized Crime Index reveals some concerns: Pakistan scores higher in organized crime categories, with indices indicating more significant issues in areas such as human trafficking (8.0) and arms trafficking (8.0) compared to Ethiopia. Overall, while both countries face safety challenges, Pakistan's lower murder rate may suggest a relatively safer environment, but tourists should remain aware of the organized crime situation.
